Image making to me is the most marvellous thing in the world. To create a whole new world from a blank pieces of paper, to make someone smile or see something they see everyday in a brand new way, is such a privilege. I illustrate and design for adults and children and for business and issues that I value and care about.

My creative practice starts in sketchbooks. Drawing from life, playing, experimenting, trying new colours, new materials and creating ideas, all begins for me in a sketchbook. This is how I learn to see the world and wonder over its details time and time again. My sketchbooks are my joy.

The drawings below are from a sketchbook that I filled with tiny people, one of my favourite things to do.

I have spent lots of my life travelling. I also love running, especially along mountain ridges. And tea. I choose snow, storms and rain over sunshine, and I worked out I can even sketch outside in minus 18 degrees.

I drew a city a day for the month of October - a way to satisfy my love of travel whilst stuck in our house! Read more about it and see some more of these pieces here.

I loved drawing the above scene for Folktale Week 2020. Read my story, The Girl Who could Talk to Foxes and see all the artwork here.
